Still She Persisted: History of Women in the Military

Presented by: Sandy Adams

Navy Veteran

12pm PT/3pm ET

This presentation highlights the resilience and contributions of women in the military primarily from 1901 on. It particularly gives women veterans a sense of the proud history to which they contributed. It helps raise their awareness of the importance of and pride in being a veteran.

Bio: Sandy Adams served in the Navy both active and reserve for 34 years, retiring as a Rear Admiral (Lower Half) in 2015. She also retired as a civilian in 2018 as a Director of supply chain from a major defense company. She volunteers her time as an ambassador to California for the Military Women’s Memorial and also is a mentoring resource to two organizations. She also volunteers her support to the American College of National Security Leaders, a nonprofit group of retired flag and general officers who provide a non-political perspective on important national security topics. With time for a hobby now she loves being an evolving woodworker.
