Focus Forward Fellowship - a model for building women student veteran portfolios

The session will address three Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the unique needs of women student veterans
2. Learn how the Focus Forward Fellowship fills gaps for women student veterans
3. Identify students that would be ideal candidates for the Fellowship and could use the additional support to succeed on their campus.
Bio: Stacy Parnell, MBAHM, M.Ed., has nearly ten years of experience in higher education. Stacy is currently the senior education and employment specialist for Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University with primary responsibility for the Focus Forward Fellowship. Within this role, Stacy regularly evaluates the program, educational trends and military community needs to ensure the Fellowship continues to meet the evolving needs of women student veterans. Prior to joining MFRI in 2021, Stacy served as a faculty manager for Western Governors University overseeing students in the graduate business programs. Stacy has an extensive background in leadership development and helping new and potential leaders navigate the management landscape through crucial conversations, emotional intelligence, time management, feedback processes, and strategic thinking. Stacy has dedicated her career to serving nonprofits and their work to better the lives of those around them. While Stacy has not served personally, her husband served in the Indiana National Guard.
